Hello There!

I'm Jill

In design, and also in life, three values I cherish are authenticity, empathy, and simplicity.

The thing that makes great brands sparkle around the competition is authenticity. A brand with a clear vision of who they are and aspire to be, with the courage to be transparent and take risks gets my dollars. While doing research for a new product it’s important to dig deep to find authenticity. We live in complicated times where there is so much of everything. Building a functioning product with a clean and beautiful user interface is no longer a legit benchmark. Choosing a relevant product to build that will have a significant effect on our lives or the world is what determines success.

I believe empathy and aspiring towards it enables true communication. While solving design problems I think empathically, always striving to understand the users point of view. I also ask many questions. What am I making? What is its purpose? Who is the user and what are his or her expectations? How should it feel? The answers that come to light steer the course.

Simplicity is another aspect of powerful design which I aspire to. This may be my opinion, however for me it feels more like a fact. “Less Is More”. It’s important to prioritize the features for any product, and to try to forgo building the superfluous ones. A clean uncluttered product will provide clarity of purpose and identity. It will also be loved by its users.

NOTE: Due to non disclosure agreements and client relationships much of my current and recent work is not presented on this site. Please inquire about other work when we meet.
